Buddhist couple killed, 5 others injured in double attacks in Pattani

Pattani - Insurgents slain a Buddhist couple and hid homemade bomb under their bodies and detonated to ambush security officials, injuring three of them and two civilians in this southern border province early Tuesday.

Police said the couple were shot and killed by insurgents while they were riding their motorcycle to their rubber plantation on a village road in Ban Plukyai village in Tambon Paklor of Khokpho district at 5 am.

When soldiers and policemen arrived at the scene, insurgents detonated a bomb hidden under to bodies, injuring two police officers and an army officer and two civilians.

The couple were identified as Kosol Kasemsuk, 48 and Pongsri Kasemsuk, 45.
